Personal Care Attendant (PCA) - Homecare, Companionship, Homemaker, and Personal Care

Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to provide support to seniors in their homes. The ideal candidate will offer a combination of
companionship, homemaking, and personal care services while respecting clients & dignity and maintaining a professional, positive environment. The role requires flexibility, a willingness to learn, and a strong commitment to meeting the needs of seniors in various living environments.

Key Responsibilities:

 Provide companionship and engage with clients in a respectful and caring manner.
 Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing,
grooming, and personal hygiene.
 Help clients with mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed.
 Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and
organizing living spaces.
 Assist with medication reminders and transportation to appointments as required.
 Monitor and report any changes in the client’s condition to the family or office staff.
 Adapt to clients' care plans and adjust services as their needs change.
 Maintain clear, professional, and positive communication with clients, family members,
office staff, and other care team members.
 Ensure the safety and well-being of clients while maintaining their privacy and dignity.
 Help foster a comfortable and nurturing home environment.
Requirements:
 Must enjoy working with seniors and have a passion for providing care and
companionship.
 High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in homecare or personal
assistance preferred, but not mandatory.
 Must possess the physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and assist with mobility.
 Ability to adapt to different living environments and care plans.
 Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to treat clients, their families, and their
property with respect and dignity.
 Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact clearly and politely
with clients, families, and office staff.
 Must be at least 18 years of age.
 Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of valid car
insurance (meeting minimum state requirements).
 Ability to successfully pass all screenings including drug test, fingerprint background
check, and physical capability evaluation.
 Must be flexible and able to adjust to the evolving needs of clients and care plans.

 

Working Conditions:

 The role involves travel to various client locations within the service area.
 Shifts may vary depending on client needs, including weekends and evenings.
 You will be working in private homes, so the ability to adapt to different household
environments is essential.
